Have you ever wondered? What gives God joy?

Although God created everything, His greatest joy comes from our “genuine worship and trust.”

True Worship has little to do with the methodology.  It has more to do with “the state of ones heart before God.”

When Jesus conversed with the Samaritan woman, she brought up a popular theological issue, “where is the correct place to worship?” She asked, “tells me why is it that you Jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place to worship, while we Samaritans claim, it is here at Mount Gerizim, where our ancestor worship?” (John 4:20) Jesus recognized that her question was a smoke screen to keep Him away from the deepest need (Salvation). Jesus then directed the conversation to a much more important point.

To Jesus the location of worship is not nearly as important as is the attitude, and the heart of the worshiper.  He tells us in John 4:23-24, “The time is coming and is already here when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth.” God is looking and searching for the believer who will worship Him “In spirit and in truth.”  For God is Spirit. So those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and in Truth.

God is Spirit means, He is not a physical being limited to our space and time. He is present everywhere and we can worship anywhere, at anytime. Therefore, Berwyn Baptist Church must live and walk in the atmosphere of “True Worship” in the presence of almighty God, Jesus Christ our lord.
