Welcome
We know it's not easy to visit a new church for the first time. Sometimes you feel like you're on show, or you are the only one that doesn't know everyone. You have questions like "Do I belong here?" or "How should I dress?" We hope that this will answer your questions, but if it doesn't, contact us at the phone number or e-mail at the bottom of the page, and we'll be happy to answer them.
Where do I park?
When you pull into the parking lot at Berwyn Baptist you'll see that there are spots near front of the building marked "Visitor Parking". We've designated these spots just for you. If someone happens to be in "your spots" you're welcome to park anywhere on our lot.
A Warm Welcome
As you come through the front door, you'll be greeted by a few friendly people who are there to say hello, answer any questions you have, and assist you in getting where you want to go. They'll also hand you a copy of our worship folder, which has the week's announcements and the notes for the morning's message.
Our greeters are there for you, our guests so feel free to ask them for help getting your children to the correct place, finding a class, or finding a place to sit.
A Friendly and Safe Place
As you look around, you'll probably notice that everyone is dressed comfortably. Our members and guest wear anything from "office casual" to jeans and sneakers. You will also notice that there is a card in the back of the seat in front of you. We call these "Response Cards". These are an easy way for our members to let us know something and they are also a great way for us to get better acquainted with you. During the announcements, you'll hear about the cards again, but don't worry; we won't point you out as a new guest. Once you've used the cards to let us know about you or ask for information or assistance please put them in the offering plate later in the service.
No matter your situation in life, you'll know that Berwyn is a place you can belong.
A Meaningful Experience
Through varied worship experiences and services, you can expect to find your time at Berwyn Baptist meaningful. We understand that people are different and try to include something in our services that will help everyone connect with God. If you are attending our 5:30 pm service you'll also see and hear our praise band playing a contemporary welcoming song (using bass, brass, guitars, keyboards, and drums). You'll hear them throughout the service while we sing and you'll learn some new songs that will keep you humming all week.
Our 11:00 am service is a traditional worship service. We worship God through traditional hymns and hear a message from our pastor.
We know that your time is valuable and want you to find the service that best fits your needs. We want you to know that you and your children will walk away from Berwyn Baptist glad you came and better because of it.
Practical Preaching and Teaching
Pastor Thom's messages are backed by the truth of God's word and never lack passion. You can expect to hear God's message communicated in a creative and unique way that is both practical and relevant to our daily lives. Messages are also available on CD and tape so you can review them at home or in your car.
Likewise, our Sunday School classes are there to help you apply these practical and useful biblical truths to your lives.
